PALMA SUB PON-
DERE CRESCIT
Schloss Waldeck um 650
Gut fur eine million mark
During the Weimar Republic’s hyperinflation crises of 1923, existing notes were locally revalidated and over-stamped with higher denominations.
This 1,000,000 Mark notgeld was initially issued in 1922 as a 50 Mark note, (https://en.numista.com/284373) and was valid for only “Two months after announcement.”
However, on the 18th of August 1923, the note’s original face-value of 50 Mark was multiplied by 20,000 to “Eine Million Mark” and revalidated.
The over-stamp was applied directly to the 50 Mark type of 1922.
3 Distinct colours ink can be seen as part if the over-stamp:

The note’s 1923 Value, date of Authorisation,
and Validation from:
The Executive Committee of the Eder District
&
The District Administrator are in Red Ink.
The District Administrator‘s
signature is in Blue Ink.
The District Savings Bank, Bad Wildungen
stamp their approval in Purple Ink.

The lettering includes the motto of Waldeck Principality in German and Latin:
German: Die Palme wächst auch unter der Last
Latin: Palma Sub Pondere Crescit
English: The palm grows even under the burden
