Fantasy Coin - Edward VIII "Wreath" Crown, Trial

This series of plain edge fantasy coins has a constant diameter of ~38.5 mm. However, the thicknesses vary both within the same metal type (i.e., for copper 2.55 to 2.9 mm) and between differing metal types. The observed range is 2.4 to 3.41 mm, with an average thickness of 2.83 mm.

Last year (2016) was the 80th anniversary of The Year of Three Kings, so we are proud to offer this 1936 Patina with a much lower mintage of just 100 pieces in each metal. This crown sized beauty was struck in eight different metals and with two (2) edges, plain and milled; here we offer you the milled-edged variant. We bought almost the entire mintage, except for four sets which went to the INA (International Numismatic Agency) archives and to auction.
