Sills Wreath: Southern Coinage; Tincomarus; Quarter Staters: Class 7 - Wreath. Obverse inspired by the Victory unit (ABC 1130) which was contemporary with Warrior staters (ABC 1055). A possible prototype is Eppillus Grapevine (ABC 1163). The reverse is a stick-like horse that is either galloping or standing with a bent leg as on Verica's Stepping Horse (ABC 1202). This and the abbreviated legend suggests these coins are late in the series. They are not associated with any stater and may be posthumous, especially the lightweight issue (which unlike the earlier issue was not found at Selsey and may be donative during the interregnum before the accession of Verica).
Sills DK 349 (3 obverse, 3 reverse dies): Some have evenly-spaced, well-shaped leaves but others are blundered and irregularly spaced. Weight up to 1.26g.
Sills DK 350 (1 obverse, 1 reverse die): Lightweight. Long leaves. Large T. Weight up to 1.05g.
Sills has the Wreath stater and Comet unit (ABC 1127) as equivalents at the end of Tincomarus's reign and possibly posthumous. They follow on from the Warrior Com F Tin stater (ABC 1067) and its equivalents.
Sills chronology: Gallo-Belgic Ca - Insular Cf / Aa Westerham - British Ad - British Q and L - British Qa-b Derivatives - Commios - Tincomarus.
