Ιστορικό πλαίσιο:

Η 4η έκδοση των τραπεζογραμματίων Krone είχε ήδη δρομολογηθεί πριν από τον Β' Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο. Λόγω του ξεσπάσματος του πολέμου και της χάραξης που γινόταν από τον Thomas de la Rue στο Λονδίνο. Έτσι, η τράπεζα της Νορβηγίας δεν διέθετε τα χαρακτικά για να ξεκινήσει την εκτύπωση, συγκεκριμένα δεν είχε την πλάκα του χαρτονομίσματος των 100 κορώνων.

Το σχέδιο προέβλεπε να υπάρχει στην μπροστινή όψη μια εξέχουσα προσωπικότητα της Νορβηγίας από την πρόσφατη εποχή.

Στο πίσω μέρος θα έπρεπε να χρησιμοποιηθούν γνωστοί νορβηγικοί πίνακες ζωγραφικής ή άλλες φιγούρες, για να απεικονιστούν τα 4 παραδοσιακά επαγγέλματα, όπως στην 5η έκδοση του Speciedaler.

Τα επαγγέλματα αυτά είναι τα εξής: Γεωργία, ναυτιλία, αλιεία και αρτοποιία.

Αλλά το πρώτο, η γεωργία χωρίστηκε σε γεωργία και δασοκομία. Η αρτοποιία εκσυγχρονίστηκε σε βιομηχανία και ένα νέο επάγγελμα προστέθηκε ως πολιτισμός και πνευματική ζωή.

Ορισμένες από τις αντίστροφες ζωγραφιές είναι ανακατασκευές και άλλες έχουν κατασκευαστεί ειδικά για την περίσταση.

Αυτά τα χαρτονομίσματα εκδόθηκαν από το 1950 έως το 1965, πράγμα που σημαίνει ότι εκδόθηκαν τόσο υπό τον βασιλιά Haakon VII μέχρι τον θάνατό του το 1957 όσο και μετά τον βασιλιά Olav V μέχρι το τέλος της έκδοσης.

Τα χαρτονομίσματα τέθηκαν σε κυκλοφορία την 1η Ιουνίου 1951.

Historical context:

The 4th issue of the Krone-banknotes was already on the way before WWII. Due to the outbreak of the war and the engravings being done by Thomas de la Rue in London. So the bank of Norway didn't have the engravings to begin printing, sepcificly they didn't have the 100 Kroner note plate.

The plan was to have a prominent Norwegian personality from recent time on the front.

On the back it should use known Norwegian paintings or other figures, to illustrate the 4 traditional professions, like the 5th issue of the Speciedaler.

Those professions being: Agriculture, shipping, fishing and bakery.

But the first, agriculture got devided into farming and forestry. Bakery got modernised into industry and a new profession was added as culture- and spiritual life.

Some of the reverse paintings are reconstructions and others are made specificly for the occasion.

 

Ruler:

These notes were issued from 1950 to 1965, which means they were issued under both King Haakon VII untill his death in 1957 and after that King Olav V untill the end of the issue.

The notes went into ciculation on the 1. of June, 1951.
